Paula is professor emeritus of Biostatistics and Health Services. Her major interest has been statistical methods for health services research and health studies. Early work included diagnostic predictions for headache, pneumonia, and ankle trauma. She has previously worked and published in the areas of health care utilization (including mental health), small area variation analysis, and the design and analysis of health promotion studies where the number of units is small. She is currently interested in aging, specifically in longitudinal analyses of changes in health and quality of life for older adults.
