My research focuses on developing efficient and robust statistical methods for analyzing spatially and temporally correlated data. I'm particularly interested in spatio-temporal models for surveillance data as well as small area estimation using complex survey data. My work is mostly motivated by applications in infectious disease epidemiology and public health outcomes, especially in the setting of developing countries.
Before UW Biostatistics, I received my B.S. in Statistical Science and Mathematics from Duke University and worked as a statistician in a digital analytics company in the Washington, D.C. area.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano, listening to classical music, hiking and traveling.
