Avi Kenny studied biology at Brown University and then moved to Liberia to work for a healthcare nonprofit called Last Mile Health, most recently serving as the Director of Research, Monitoring & Evaluation. He managed a team of 16 staff, was the in-country Principal Investigator on four research projects and coded "Last Mile Data", an offline-capable database platform used for managing programmatic data. At the University of Washington, he is pursuing a PhD in biostatistics and will continue the pursuit of global health equity by developing statistical models and techniques that aid in causal inference in developing world settings. Outside of school, Avi enjoys playing guitar, acrylic painting, backpacking, and carpentry.
